Watching the Darkness Fall ~ 3rd December 2018
The Seasonal Self ~ Winter ~ January 9th 2019
Create the Life You Want -  Vision Board Workshop ~ January 13th 2019

Watching the Darkness Fall
Monday 3rd December 15.20 - 17.00
Culpeper Community Garden (Angel, Islington)
Donation (£10 suggestion)

Night falls early and quickly in the depth of winter.  While we often linger to watch the summer sunsets, it's rare at this time of year to really watch the transition from light to dark.  I invite you to do just that; to sit in mindful contemplation and observe the sights and sounds of this time of day; to discover how the colours, textures and shadows shift as the light fades and the darkness descends.  I'll guide some simple meditations to awaken the senses and deepen connection to nature before the main meditation.  There'll then be time to share around the fire with a mug of mulled apple juice or cup of tea.

This session is offered on a cash donation basis (£10 suggestion). After costs, donations will support the wonderful work of Culpeper Community Garden.

 The Seasonal Self
Winter session

Wednesday 9th January  9.30-12.00
Cabin in Queen's Woods (Highgate)

£35

Each season Claire invites you to spend some time connecting with nature, yourself and others in one of London’s beautiful green spaces.

Through a blend of mindful walking, meditation, seasonally-inspired exercises and discussions you will be supported to leave behind the hectic pace and demands of the city and connect with the natural world.

You will be supported to really notice the sights, sounds and smells of the natural environment and the unique qualities and characteristics of this place, this moment, this season.

When we pay attention to nature in this way and witness where she is in her cycle of the year and we look with curiosity and delight, we also discover what is alive in us right now.  From this place we can better respond to our own needs and desires, nourishing ourselves and enriching our lives.

Testimonials from previous groups and nature walks

‘Once I went to the first walk, I was hooked! My nature-check every season is necessary to reboot my system from its city life pollution.  It's a good gauge of my stress levels... if I find it too hard to remain in the present during the walk, then it tells me my work/ life balance is off and reminds me to look after myself and take the time to recentre during that season.  Connecting with nature and my senses brings me so much inspiration.  Going back to everyday life feels more purposeful and connected somehow.’  ~ Sharlit

‘I love the format and the way each walk marks the progress of the year. They have helped me to keep grounded and to accept the changes in my life.’  ~  Sarah

‘Somehow it reminds me of a dance. A dance with nature. Claire guides us, and then she kindly and caringly leaves us to enjoy nature.’   ~  Caroline

Vision Board Workshop
Learn to put your wishes, hopes and dreams centre-stage in your life

Sunday 13th January 2019
10.30-17.00
Clean Break Studios, Kentish Town
£110

I run these workshops with my colleague Emma Marlin.  We're both qualified Humanistic Psychotherapists and registered members of BACP, who are passionate about supporting people to live full and satisfying lives.

This fun, creative and supportive day provides space away from the demands and pressures of everyday life so you can focus on what really matters - you.

Through gentle visualisations and exercises, you’ll be guided to tune into your inner voice and, from this wise place, create a powerful visual representation of your not-yet-known dreams. Finally, you’ll learn how this tool can continue to anchor and inspire you.

Here's what participants have said about previous workshops:

It was a lovely day and great to focus on the year ahead in terms of what I want to bring into my life.  Claire and Emma ran it beautifully together which really helped us to relax and explore our dreams.   - Caroline JM

Thank you for such a wonderful workshop, it really was a wonderful and valuable experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and it was a lovely group of people that felt safe and holding, as well as inspiring.  - Lesley K

The exercises during the day allowed my previously hidden dreams to bubble up and find expression in a completely unexpected way. Natalie R

You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection - Buddha

Often we are more generous to others than to ourselves.  It may be more familiar to give than to receive.  We might find it easy, almost automatic, to care for and be attuned to the needs of those around us while feeling unsure of how to turn this same kind and generous attention to ourselves.  Amidst the many demands of our busy lives, we often leave ourselves to last, bringing only what is left when the tasks of the day have been accomplished and needs of others tended to. In so doing, we sell ourselves short.

In this workshop we’ll explore a different way of being.  One where we know, honour and nurture ourselves.  In this small, intimate group we will bring careful attention to our relationship with ourselves and others; explore how we give and receive care; deepen our understanding of our own needs, wants and desires and discover how we can best respond to them.

We will work with discussion, reflection, meditation and creativity. We will use our location in the beautiful woods to draw inspiration and teaching from nature.  There will be suggestions of how to continue these explorations between sessions so we can make meaningful changes and really weave self-care into our daily lives.
